1º INTERVENCIÓN EN AULA ACTION EN EL CEPA FAUSTINA ALVAREZ GARCIA . LEÓN

Aunque aún no hemos terminado con las sesiones de observación (el próximo martes iremos Marian y yo al IES Santa María de Carrizo a observar a Beatriz, nuestra profesora experta), ayer, viernes, con la valiosa ayuda de Ana (la alumna de prácticas del Máster Universitario  de Educación Secundaria en Enseñanzas de Idiomas, de la que soy tutor), que hizo de observadora de mi clase y es autora de la foto que adjunto, realicé la 1ª Aula_Action. He aquí la ficha de la lección:

AULA_ ACTION: To take advantage of a song to practise an English structure already studied and introduce a new one. (I learnt it from Beatriz in the 2nd observation).



WORKSHEET: BLOWING IN THE WIND

GROUP: NIVEL I (competencia en comunicación lingüística: inglés)

Time for the lesson: 100’

1st LISTEN AND COMPLETE THE SONG (40’)

  1. 1.       Listen to the song Blowing In The Wind by Bob Dylan.
  2. 2.       Short dialogue:
    1. a.       Questions: -Have you understood any words/ structures of the song? What do you think the song is about? Do you like the singer?...
  3. 3.       I give photocopies with the written song to the students.
  4. 4.       The students listen to the song again and read the lyrics
  5. 5.       Listen, read and try to fill in the gaps with the words given in the worksheet. This time the song is performed by Bruce Springsteen.
  6. 6.       Listen again and complete the song, this time performed by Sam Cooke.
  7. 7.       The teacher checks the answers by asking the students.

2nd REVISION OF HOW MANY (20’)

  1. a.       How many + countable nouns.
  2. b.      Look at the examples in the song and underline them:

-How many roads…

-How many seas…

-How many times…

-How many years… etcetera.

3rd INTRODUCTION OF MODAL CAN (20’)

  1. c.       CAN: ability and possibility.
  2. d.      CAN + bare infinitive.
  3. e.      CAN doesn’t change in the 3rd person of singular.
  4. f.        CAN in the negative form: cannot/can’t.
  5. g.       CAN in the interrogative form: Can I…?
  6. h.      Look at the examples in the song and underline them:

-How many years can a mountain exist…?

-How many years can some people exist…?

-How many times can a man turn his head…?

4th CONCLUSION (20’)

  1. i.         Listen to the song Blowing in the wind again performed by Johny Cash.
  2. j.        Listen to the song two more times: one of them subtitled in Spanish.
